Overview

North India is the beginning of the exciting Indian trail. It is
here in this golden triangle that the seekers of India begin their
fantastic voyage of discovery. Because within this is cradled the essence
of India. Delhi, a rich tapestry of contrasts, is the theme
of this complex land. Agra, the zenith of art and an enshrined
romance and Jaipur, exuberant with colour shows the romanticism
of this country. The Taj Mahal is to India what the Eiffel Tower
is to France, a reference point from which to judge other architectural
wonders. Rajasthan is another visual treat with its various palaces,
forts, havelis, temples and an all-embracing desert on which
it stands. The hill stations of Himachal- Shimla, Dalhousie,
Kullu, Kasauli, Manali, Chail and Kufri will lure you. Srinagar,
the Kashmir capital, is picture-perfect. Kashmir's lakes and blue valleys
rising to alpine passes and the starkly beautiful mountains of Ladakh
is where you can find the ultimate bliss.

to it lies the famous market of the mughals, the moonlight bazaar
or Chandni Chowk.
The spacious city of New Delhi is the centre of all government activity
with its main avenue- the impressive Rajpath - leads up from the
war memorial arch, the India Gate, up to the imposing Rashtrapati
Bhawan, built on the Raisina Hill. Dotting the city like little
oases of lush green, are the spectacular parks and formal gardens,
which surround old monuments like the massive Old Fort or Purana
Quila. 15 km south of Rashtrapati Bhawan lies the famous Qutab
Minar or victory tower.
